The GENOMAVIR® target discovery
process consists of 4-steps:
Gene trapping to create clones of cells
producing unique fusion proteins with a common fluorescent domain
under the control of cellular promoters.
- FACS analysis and sorting
of cells to fractionate by level of protein expression.
- High-throughput
sequencing of specific insertion sites responsible for the creation
of the fusion proteins identified by FACS analysis using SAVI, a
NewLink Genetics proprietary technology.
- Construction of a relational database
to combine these data in a format easily interfaced with available
bioinformatics software such as NewLink Genetics’ Vmatch and GeneSeqer
to identify potential targets for evaluation as either diagnostic
markers or drug based therapeutic interventions.
